Steam Yard - Sheffield
Steam Yard is housed in an old silver works, the grade II listed Aberdeen Court just off Division Street. White walls, exposed concrete floors, steel framed leather booths, reclaimed oak create a minimal, classic but welcoming interior with a nod to vintage America.
Steam Yard is all about giving you a great cup of coffee (and donut) in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. House espresso is Red Brick from Square Mile Roasters and a weekly guest blends on offer from the UKs best roasters.
Opening January 2014 Steam yard has implanted itself within the wide range of cafes found on Devonshire Street and the surrounding area. Serving a variety of coffees, donuts, toasties and bagels. Donuts and ‘Fronuts’ are their big thing. If you’re wondering what a Fronut is, its a fresh donut served with Peak District Ice cream. Honestly, does it get much better!?
We visited Steam Yard again and again to give you an idea of what this unique coffee shop offers. Voted one of the UKs coolest coffee shops by ShortList Magazine; it feels like you’ve walked into an American café, but with its industrial décor you don’t feel too far from home and Sheffield’s inheritance. Offering an outside courtyard which is hard to find on Devonshire St, it lets you take in the sunshine and enjoy your Fronuts outside. Yes outside.
Inspiration from the States is obvious, hosting a variety of tasty treats including the “Steve McQueen” – that’s a donut and coffee. We’ll let you try this for yourself. Trust us though, it’s worth it. We enjoyed a bagel with Pastrami, cheese, rocket, mayo and mustard. A donut and flat white coffee. I could not resist taking a bite out of the bagel before taking a photo.

Besides the food, Steam Yard do a great coffee, so good in fact that they've bottling it!
